Initiate programming to spark recognition of all factors, beyond only race, when considering "DEI."

Incorporating information about the DEI Committee on the Shoal Chamber's website, including its mission statement. Conducting unconscious bias training for Shoals Chamber's Board of Directors, and considering DEI throughout the planning process of all Chamber events.

The Minority Business Council has been initiated by our Board of Directors’ DEI Committee. It is made up of diverse individuals from all areas of business with no requirement of Shoals Chamber Membership.
Mission Statement
Helping Minority Business Owners navigate and thrive in our local business landscape by:
- Identifying and removing barriers to funding sources
- Fostering genuine relationships and enhancing networks
- Providing access to education and resources
A Minority Business is at least 51% owned by one or more minority individuals, including but not limited to, African American, Asian, Hispanic, Latino, LGBTQ+, Native American, Pacific Islander, Veteran and Women.
