CHAMBER ANNOUNCES
NEW YOUTH LEADERSHIP SHOALS CLASS

Florence, Ala. – May 24, 2006
The Shoals Chamber of Commerce announced today the newest class of its Youth Leadership Shoals program. The program, sponsored in part by Buffalo Rock-Pepsi Cola, is a nine-month community awareness and leadership training program for rising high school juniors.

Throughout the program, students are immersed in a wealth of localized curriculum, including sessions on the history of the Shoals Area, economic development and local business, in an effort to develop their potential as future leaders in the Shoals community.

The following rising high school juniors have been accepted into the Shoals Chamber of Commerce’s Youth Leadership Shoals Class of 2007:

Brooks High School: Ethan Kershaw, Heidi Rodriguez and Daniel Thompson; Central High School: Alex King; Colbert County High School: Summer Mitchell and Lauren Richardson; Colbert Heights High School: Patrick Witt; Covenant Christian Academy: Megan Heatherly, Lindsay Steien and Lee Williams; Deshler High School: Emily Creasy; Florence High School: Alex Beumer, Sean Connolly, Millie Harrison, Tara Hilliard and Mollie Kindahl; Lexington High School: Catie Bryan and Katie Williams; Mars Hill Bible School: Shannon Patterson and John Young; Muscle Shoals High School: Kira Boyd, Stephen McClanahan, Justin Pitts, Anna Catherine Roberts and Benjamin Whitlow; Rogers High School: Sarah Baggett, Caleb Banks and Ashley Whitehead; Sheffield High School: Michelle Stacy; Shoals Christian Academy: Allyson Dalton, Jessica Hartley and Taylor Pickens; Waterloo High School: Jamin Dowdy and Monica Woods; and Wilson High School: Roxanne Bowles, Zack McMullan and Chaz Smith.
