CHAMBER WELCOMES RETURN OF WAVERLEE HOMES TO SHOALS AREA

Florence, Ala. – June 12, 2006
The Shoals Chamber of Commerce will host a ribbon cutting tomorrow at 12:00 p.m. for Waverlee Homes, Inc., as it opens a location at 680 Waverlee Road, Tuscumbia.

Waverlee Homes, Inc., headquartered in Hamilton, Ala., is one of the nation's leading manufactured housing builders. The Tuscumbia plant location will manufacture both upper-scale Housing and Urban Development-code homes and modular homes.

"The Chamber welcomes Waverlee Homes back to the Shoals, and the jobs it’s creating. Having them back shows their commitment to our area and we look forward to working with them," said Steve Holt, president of the Shoals Chamber of Commerce.

The opening of the plant marks the return of Waverlee Homes to the Shoals area, which previously closed in the same location in 2000. The reconstruction of the Gulf Coast region following the devastation of Hurricane Katrina has boosted the manufactured home market, as well as available financing.

The plant is expected to employ 150 workers.
