What
is the Shoal Chamber’s Medical Council?
The
Chamber’s Medical Council is comprised of businesses, specialists
and medical practices involved in every aspect of health care in
the Shoals. The Medical Council addresses issues that are of vital
interest to the medical community, and works to create positive
change. Working together in a non competitive environment, Medical
Council members are able to accomplish far more than they could
individually.
Here
are some specific projects:
• There’s No Place Like Home.
This marketing campaign
is designed to educate Shoals citizens about the quality and availability
of healthcare in the area and the benefits of seeking healthcare
locally rather than traveling to larger cities. This campaign includes
a web site, brochure, and public awareness marketing campaign.
•
Continuing Education opportunities
Working with the
University of North Alabama’s Office of Continuing Studies
and Outreach, the Chamber’s Medical Council has helped design
courses that are relevant, timely, and earn CEUs.
•
Healthcare worker recruitment and retention
The Medical Council
is dealing with issues that encourage careers in the healthcare
profession, and includes a job listing service on the website for
those seeking health care professionals. As a member of the Shoals
Chamber, Medical Council members bring attention to their businesses
through:
• Internet
links and listings
• MedMart
• Membership
directory listings and advertising opportunities
• Member-to-member
discount programs
• Event sponsorship
• Networking
opportunities
• Attention
through Shoals Business Perspective, the Chamber’s business
magazine
And
there’s more! Ask a Chamber representative or member for a
complete list of benefits. |
